MacQuarrie tartan
Tartan has been worn in Scotland since very early times. The only real way to know what is a clan tartan is by the clan chief. The MacQuarries don't have a chief. We rely solely on tradition, the recommendation of organizations such as the Scottish Tartans Authority, and the tartan manufacturers themselves. The MacQuarrie tartan is usually recognized as number 892. It's a simple red and dark green pattern. It is very similar to the MacDonald of the Isles tartan and the MacDonald of Sleat tartan. It illustrates our ties with the MacDonald clan.
